A man was arrested after driving a stolen truck and eluding police during a pursuit in Oklahoma City Monday afternoon, according to police.
Oklahoma City Police said they attempted to stop Lance Miller near Interstate-44 and Southwest 119th Street when he took off.
For 20 minutes, Miller led police and troopers on a steady chase.
“For the most part he was going the speed limit,” said Lt. Robert Allen, Oklahoma City Police.
With a birds-eye view on the pickup, law enforcement on the ground kept their distance.
“We have to take precautions, especially this time of day, with the amount of traffic,” said Allen.
Police attempted multiple pit maneuvers, making Miller spin out, but Miller was able to regain control of the truck.
The chase ended near Northwest Pennsylvania Avenue and Memorial Road where troopers forced the truck into a final spin.
Police said Miller was holding a beer when he was removed from the truck after he failed to follow their commands.
“No citizens were injured, there were no officers injured, and this ended fairly safely,” said Allen.
Miller went to the hospital to be treated for scrapes. He’s expected to be booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
