Beginners And Pros Unite To Catch Burmese Pythons In Florida's Epic 10-Day Contest

A 10-day python removal competition is underway in Florida. 

Beginners and pros are out hoping to catch them for a chance at a cash prize. They're hunting Burmese pythons, which is an invasive species. 

Last year, one thousand hunters captured 230 pythons. Hunters said it takes an average of 12 hours to catch one. 

The grand prize for the person who catches the most $10,000.
