Frost & Freeze Possible Wednesday Morning

It is definitely starting to feel more like fall!

The coldest air of the season arrives Wednesday morning!

What is the weather like on Wednesday?

A cool start this morning!

Wednesday afternoon will be sunny and very cool with highs in the low to mid 60's. Temperatures continue to warm into the 70's through the weekend.

Dress in layers Wednesday morning, temperatures will be cold!

 Light frost and even a light freeze are possible!

Remember that the drought is still a big problem, and the fire danger remains a concern. We need rain!

What does the weather look like for the rest of this week?

Highs will be in the 60s for a couple of days. We will slowly warm back into the mid-70s by the weekend.

Saturday, there is a potential for some much-needed rain as a system moves in from the southwest.

Our next rainmaker arrives this weekend. The data on rain chances is still a mess. Right now, the chances range from 20 to 30 percent.

EMSA HEAT SAFETY TIPS

-HYDRATION is key in preventing heat-related illness. Drink plenty of water or electrolyte replacement drinks several hours before and during long exposure to the summer heat.

Wear light-colored, loose fitting clothing and a wide-brimmed hat if working outdoors, and take plenty of shade breaks.

No alcohol or caffeine.

If you do not have air conditioning, find a cooling station or public space (such as libraries or malls) during the day.

Don’t limit your use of air conditioning.

Use the buddy system if working outdoors and check on elderly neighbors.

Keep a cellphone on you at all times when outdoors, including walking, running daily errands, yard work or sports and physical activity.
