Report: Suspect Robs Oklahoma City Restaurant At Gunpoint, Search Underway

A search is underway for a suspect accused of robbing a restaurant Wednesday in northwest Oklahoma City.

An Oklahoma City Police report said officers arrived on scene of an armed robbery at a restaurant near Northwest 23rd Street and North Harvey Avenue.

Police spoke to one of the workers, and she said the suspect had been sitting inside of the restaurant for about 10 minutes before she asked him if he wanted to order something because they were about to close, the report said.

The suspect told the worker he would like to order some food before he walked around the counter and pointed a handgun at the worker’s head, according to the report.

The report said the suspect demanded money from the front cash registers, a safe inside the restaurant and the third register near the drive thru window.

The worker said the suspect fled the store and ran north across Northwest 23rd Street, according to the report.

The suspect is described as being over 6 feet tall and had long dreads tied in a bun. He was wearing a red shirt, blue jean shorts and tennis shoes, the worker told police.

The report said the suspect took over $700, but the exact amount is unknown until an audit is done on the safe and drawers.
