Western Heights Schools Addressing Concerns Over Elementary School Principal

The Western Heights Board of Education is holding a meeting on Monday to address concerns from the community surrounding a principal at one of the district's elementary schools.

The meeting comes after critics of John Glenn Elementary Principal Dr. Shane Murnan, most notably, State Superintendent Ryan Walters, are unhappy with his work as a drag queen.

Supporters of Dr. Murnan counter that those critics' outrage has nothing to do with the classroom.

Critics of Dr. Murnan said he was also charged with child pornography, however those charges were dismissed due to a lack of evidence and expunged from his record.

In Oklahoma, having your record expunged means your court and arrest record are sealed, preventing the public from having access to the information inside.

The board of education meeting begins at 6 p.m.
