'I Have the Receipts': Ryan Walters on Foreign Interference In Oklahoma Education

State Superintendent Walters said in a statement today - “The communist Chinese government has tried to insert itself into classrooms around the country for years, including here in Oklahoma."

For the first time, he says he 'has the receipts'.

“Pass a law to ban schools from accepting money from hostile foreign governments, and prohibit schools from entering into data-sharing agreements with hostile foreign governments,” said Walters in request to the US Congress earlier this week now he’s moved to the state level.

The state superintendent sent a memo to members of the legislature with over 30 pages of what Walters calls proof, that Tulsa signed a contract with Confucius Classroom- a curriculum created and funded by the Chinese Communist Party.

Walters asked for legislation that “will prohibit school districts from accepting funding from hostile foreign governments.”

Walter also wants to require districts to gather more financial information on organizations that they partner with and make that information accessible on their website.
