OU Professor, Former War Correspondent Discusses War In Israel And Palestine

As the fighting in Israel intensifies, with Israeli forces responding to Hamas with weaponry supplied by the United States, a former war correspondent joined the News 9 team to discuss the conflict between the two nations.

Mike Boettcher, a journalism professor at the University of Oklahoma and former war correspondent, joined the News 9 team to discuss the conflict in Israel and Palestine.

On Oct. 7, the Islamic Resistance Movement, the terror group also known as Hamas, launched a surprise attack on Israel by means of land, air and sea. Hundreds of civilians have been killed as the Israel Defense Forces, or the IDF, attempt to dislodge Hamas combatants.

The first shipment of weapons from the US have arrived in Israel, and defense officials say a small group of US special forces are on the ground to help with planning and intelligence.
