Bill and Dixie Young visited a neurologist around a year ago to find out they had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, respectively.

"It's not easy; they didn't beat around the bush," Bill said.

The couple relocated from Atlanta to Oklahoma City to be closer to family. Here, they were able to find support from the Alzheimer’s Association.

"They are the only real organization that helps people that are suffering with Alzheimer’s,” Bill said.

They say the community has helped them look forward. They hope to make new memories in the coming years and keep a positive outlook on life despite their diagnosis.

“We just have to make the best of it as long as we can because it won't last forever," Bill said.
