'We're Not Good Enough To Get Out Of Our Box:' Mike Gundy On Strategy Ahead Of Bedlam

Ollie Gordon has earned his 3rd straight Offensive Player of the Week honor. But Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy said he may be more proud of how Gordon reacted to a conversation between the two, after Gordon’s first fumble of the season, when he slammed his helmet on the sideline. 

“I need to become a counselor, and the C I got in psychology my second year in college, must’ve provided me with some insight. And [Gordon] responded very well. He came back to me multiple times during the game and at half-time to apologize to me,” said Gundy.

Mike Gundy doesn’t deny the significance of this last Bedlam matchup, but he says when it comes to his team, his message needs to be very simple.

“I— and we cannot get out of our box or we will not play well. We’re not good enough to get out of our box and lose sight of what we have to do… and then recover,” said Gundy.
