Before you get to cooking and baking for your Thanksgiving day feast there are a few things you need to remember to make cooking easier!
Oven thermometer: A physical thermometer can save you time, and you can see if your oven is really heating up to the exact degree you set it to, or if it's off!
Meat thermometer: This will help you make sure the internal temperature for your turkey or ham is perfect!
Spice organizer: If you are traveling to cook somewhere else, you'll want to take your spices with you instead of buying new ones. Sassy Mama uses small bead/jewelry organizers to take pre-portioned seasonings on the go!
Pre-cut veggies: Pre-cut your veggies, the night before and put them in the fridge! That way, whether you're cooking at home or away, you'' have less work and less mess to deal with the day of!
Make a Schedule for cooking: Lay out what dishes you want to make first to last, with cooking instructions if needed to keep you organized!
Table/Serving Plan: Create a plan with place cards or use the kraft paper method so you know where all of your completed dishes will go!
Kraft paper: Purchase a roll of Kraft paper, lay it out on the table or counter where you will set your completed dishes, and use a sharpie or marker to label each dish!
Pre-set table the night before: Preset your placemats, chargers, decor, etc. for your table the night before so you don't have to worry about it the day of!
Kids activities: Prepare activities for the younger children in your family! Kids have a limited attention span, so have coloring books, games, toys, etc. on hand if they get bored!
