Oklahoma Natural Gas is offering a new energy option by providing renewable natural gas to customers.
This optional program takes food and animal emissions that would normally escape to the atmosphere and converts them to natural gas.
ONG said the goal is to create a cleaner future by reducing emissions.
Once the renewable natural gas is processed, ONG said it's chemically identical to the natural gas customers have been using.
Customers wouldn't see any difference when they turn on the stove or any efficiency difference.
"For a customer, they’re not gonna notice any difference. They’re gonna see the blue flame when they’re in the kitchen. If they have a natural gas dryer, it’s gonna work the same way. It’s kind of one of those set it and forget it type moments once they opt in," said Chad Previch, Oklahoma Natural Gas PR Manager.
Customers who decide to opt into this program could see an increase in their bill for as little as roughly $3 a month, depending on how much of the renewable natural gas they want to use.
