The OSU Cowboys wrapped up the 2023 season with a 31-23 win over former Big 12 conference opponent Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl Wednesday night. The Cowboy offense broke 3 Texas Bowl records against a Texas A&M defense that was No. 1 in the SEC, and 7th nationally. The Cowboys are now 22-12 all-time record in bowl games, ranking as the best winning percentage among teams with at least 30 bowl appearances, and at least the second-best among teams with at least 20.
Wide receiver Rashod Owens set a new career high in receiving yards (164) and tied his career high in receptions (10). He also matched his career high with two touchdowns, giving him four touchdowns in his last two games. He was named the game's MVP.
Linebacker Nickolas Martin led the Cowboys with seven tackles in the Texas Bowl, giving him 140 total tackles for the season. That’s the sixth most in a single season in OSU history.
Martin and Owens joins head coach Mike Gundy after the game to look back at the win, and the season, and to start looking ahead to next year.
