A 17-year-old accused of shooting and killing an 18-year-old in Tulsa over the weekend has been arrested, police say.
Tulsa Police said the 17-year-old told detectives that he accidentally shot the victim, Seely Rudolph, in the head early Sunday morning.
Police responded to a home near 31st and 129th E. Ave. around 2:15 a.m. where officers found Rudolph dead from the gunshot wound.
The 17-year-old, who has not been named, was found at a nearby home by officers where he said he went to ask for help. Tulsa Police said the gun used in the homicide was recovered there.
Investigators said the 17-year-old, Rudolph and another woman were all inside a vehicle before the shooting, where the suspect said he was playing with the gun in the back seat when it fired, hitting Rudolph in the head.
Police said the 17-year-old had a .45 semi-automatic 1911 pistol that he said he received from a different friend. The gun was not reported missing or stolen.
The 17-year-old is in custody and the DA's office will determine appropriate charges for the teenager.
