After several close calls, the Golden Hurricane put together a complete game Tuesday night and cruised to a 107-78 win over the UTSA Roadrunners for their first AAC win of the season. With the victory, the Hurricane improved to 10-7 on the season, and 1-4 in conference play.
More than 3,500 fans filled the Reynolds Center to see the newly unveiled golden jerseys, and to see Tulsa reach the 100-point mark in an AAC game for the first time in the 10 years that the school has been a member.
Five players finished the game in double digits, led by PJ Haggerty's 25 points. Isaiah Barnes, Cobe Williams and Tyshawn Archie each had 17 points while Jared Garcia added 12.
Tulsa drained a season-high 16 three-pointers, while shooting a season-high 55 percent from behind the arc. The Hurricane also dished out a season-best 24 assists.
After the game, Barnes and Haggerty met with the media to discuss the keys to the win, and how the victory will help build momentum moving forward.
