A full-service salon south of Tulsa offers pedicures, haircuts and photo shoots.
But not just anyone can get an appointment because the business caters to a very specific clientele.
The clients come in needing some work and leave photo-ready.
Katie Thomas' client Murray is eager to get a fresh new do.
"Murray is just a certified good boy,” she said. “He really is a gentleman. He was a bit of a wild child when he was a young thing, but he really settled into himself."
Murray has been coming to see Katie at Noah's Bed and Biscuit for six years--since he was only a puppy.
"We view these dogs almost as a second family ourselves. When accidents happen like this guy's brother got hit by a car recently, I was just as torn up as the family, I think," Thomas said.
And like any family member, they deserve a place on the mantle, too.
Groomers like Tryssani Bennett are checking their skin and making sure no parts of the fur are matted, but once that’s out of the way, it's time to strike a pose!
"I love to continue my education and do kind of fun, funky styles on some of my clients,” Bennett said. “Burt here gets a teddy bear cut and he looks like a little stuffed animal."
"It's great when they come in so regularly,” said Thomas. “They view grooming as just a daily part of life."
Every client gets a photo at the end of each appointment to show off their new haircut.
"I love them because not everyone has the time or can afford to have professional photos taken of their dogs,” Thomas said. “I had a couple of clients send me Christmas cards with their dog's photos on it from us, and it's just really nice, kind of the cherry on top, I think, for a lot of people."
Precious memories captured for their owners.
