'He Was Special': Wife Of Tulsa Firefighter Harrison Moseby Opens Up Following His Cancer Battle

Harrison Moseby's wife is opening up about losing her husband a few weeks ago after a long battle with cancer.

His story brought thousands in the community together, praying for them and raising money for the family.

Mallory Moseby said she can’t help but smile knowing her husband Harrison is rejoicing in heaven.

She said if Harrison’s story inspires even one person, it’s worth sharing it.

Mallory Moseby said she always sees her husband Harrison when she looks at her two girls.

It's how she continues smiling, just weeks after Harrison lost his excruciating battle with cancer.

“He was going to praise God no matter what his situation was," said Mallory.

Mallory and Harrison met at the gym and realized they went to the same church.

Mallory comes from a firefighter family and so did Harrison, a firefighter himself.

They fell in love and got married in 2020.

“He was special, he had something about him that was just perfect, he was a light," she said.

Five months later, she got pregnant and they had a little girl, Kollyns, who is now 2.

“I’ve never seen anyone more happy than him," Mallory said about Harrison becoming a girl dad.

A few months later, they found out they were having another baby girl– Gracelee.

Right after Gracelee was born, Harrison was rushed to MD Anderson in Houston.

He had been diagnosed with sarcoma, a soft tissue cancer, and it took a turn.

“I was a mess," said Mallory. "It was the hardest thing, knowing he was leaving me and I wasn't able to go with him," she said.

Mallory said the next few months were proof of Harrison's strength.

He had several surgeries, and then an amputation of his arm.

But in every photo, Harrison is seen with a smile, and thumbs up; his faith never wavering.

"Knowing Harrison was so positive, he wasn’t discouraged, and he was going to fight," said Mallory.

Mallory juggled caring for her family with going to work, and prayed for the ability to share his story with as many people as possible.

“His one thing he did was, if I can bring someone to Christ through this, it was all worth it.”

Harrison lost his battle on January 22nd.

Thousands attended and watched his celebration of life service.

Mallory says she has peace, knowing Harrison is out of pain.

“He was running to the Lord and he ran his race so well," she said.

And her two little girls will carry on Harrison’s legacy of service, kindness, and faithfulness — until his final breath on Earth.

Mallory said she has taken time off and has a huge support system of family, friends and firefighters so she's not grieving alone.

She said her little girls will always know what an incredible father they had.
