OSU head men's basketball coach Mike Boynton has made it clear this week that the Cowboys program is way behind when it comes to funding for name, image and likeness.
Boynton's initial comments were made in a phone interview with the Tulsa World on Wednesday, and during his presser with the media Boynton didn't back down from his stance.
Now in his seventh season in charge, Boynton claims OSU is barely over the $500,000 range in total NIL spending.
In comparison, some programs are about the $2 million mark for their roster.
Boynton isn't making excuses for currently being dead last in the Big 12 but says it's a reality.
"Part of it is we have to play better, I think the better you play the more people are willing to invest their time and resources into the program," Boynton said. "I appreciate that our fans aren't happy, I don't want them to feel good that we're 10-14."
