Easter is just over a month away and with the cold weather you might be looking for something to do inside. Our crafty mom Courtnay Gosnell joined News On 6 with a fun craft you can make with the kids and use to decorate the home for the holiday.
Supplies for DIY Tea Towels:
Tea Towels – you can buy in bulk at Wal-Mart Fabric Paint – Choose fun Easter colors. I like to use at least 3 Miniature marshmallows Toothpicks Card stock and a pencil to make a bunny outline Or Print one out using free templet Scissors and tape
Directions:
1. Trace a 6” circle or round lid of some sort onto a piece of card stock, then trace a slightly smaller lid onto the top of the first circle like pictured. Next, draw two bunny ears onto the top circle and cut out the outside edges only, this will make your bunny stencil. Or you can find a Free Templet online.
2. Fold your tea towels as they would hang from your stove or fridge.
3. Place the card stock stencil onto the front of the tea towel, and place a piece of tape on the back so it doesn’t move.
4. Squeeze a small amount of each color paint onto a paper plate and poke your marshmallows with a toothpick.
5. This is the fun part, dab the marshmallows into the paint and around the bunny. Switch colors until you’ve used all the colors, you can always go back and add more.
6. Let dry and your towel is ready to use
