It's been a cold and cloudy day, but family and friends still gathered on sacred ground to pay their respects to the 168 lives lost 29 years ago.

The reflecting pool hosted an audience while the fire pipes and drums rang, and the women of Point of Grace left a lasting message.

This is Mayor David Holt's 7th time sharing his remarks. Holt wants Oklahomans to have better conversations before people can do horrific acts of terror.

"But between loved ones and friends, that division can be healed," said Holt.

A familiar Washington DC face also spoke today…. Families remember Caitlin Durkovich's message in 2015. Durkovich spoke about the most recent security measures taken to protect federal employees.

"Metal detectors, fencing, basic identification requirements, and additional security for daycare centers like the one that stood here," said Durkovich.

Among those recognized by Oklahoma Forestry Services today, Mark Bayes was thanked for nurturing the survivor tree during the 2020 ice storm.

Mother of Carrie, Dorris Jones, says she loves to share and remember her daughter lost on this day.

"I have a picture in my car. It hangs on my sun visor. I just have her with me every day," said Jones.
