Multiple Schools Announce Monday Closures Due To Severe Weather

Multiple schools and groups have cancelled activities for Monday afternoon and evening due to a severe weather threat.

Oklahoma City Public Schools:

Oklahoma City Public Schools has cancelled after school activities due to potential severe weather.

All activities have been cancelled for May 6. Monday's OKCPS board meeting has not yet been cancelled, they will make that decision later this afternoon.

Putnam City Schools:

Putnam City Schools have cancelled all student activities that take place after school. Monday's board meeting will still meet at 5 p.m.

Mustang Public Schools:

Mustang Public Schools has cancelled all after school activities. The people in charge of the activities will reach out about rescheduling, the school says.

The Broncho Club will also be closed after 4:30 p.m.

Deer Creek Public Schools:

Deer Creek Public Schools has cancelled their after school activities, including Antler Care, for Monday evening.

Mid Del Public Schools:

Mid Del Public Schools has cancelled all evening activities, as well as the Mid-Del Technology Center's night classes.

Latchkey and Boys & Girls Club have also been cancelled, the school says.

Moore Public Schools:

Moore Public Schools has closed all after school events for Monday night.

"Out of an abundance of caution for our students and employees, all after-care programs, athletics, and school-related events are canceled today and tonight, May 6."

Yukon Public Schools:

Yukon Public Schools is closing their campus after school.

"Due to the forecasted inclement weather across our area later today, all after-school activities, programs, events, Millers After-School care and meetings, including tonights regularly scheduled board meeting, are canceled."

Edmond Public Schools:

Edmond Public Schools has announced they are closing campus after school due to severe weather.

The EPS board meeting will meet Tuesday.

University Of Oklahoma:

The University of Oklahoma sent the following message announcing their campus' closure after 3:30 p.m.:

"OU-Norman Weather Urgent 12:48PM: Norman campus closing today 5/6 at 3:30 pm. Exams after 3:30 to be rescheduled; no remote work. More info at ou.edu."

Oklahoma State University:

Oklahoma State University has issued this statement about the upcoming weather:

"Stay weather aware today, Cowboys. There is a high risk of severe weather today.

"If you have a final exam after 5 p.m. this evening, your professor will communicate with you if there is a change. If you have concerns about your individual situation, please reach out to your instructor."
