We're less than a month away from the primary election, and the Republican race for House District 4 has produced a barrage of ads.
House District 4 encompasses parts of south Oklahoma City, stretching all the way down to the Texas Border.
Our Matt McCabe interviewed Paul Bondar, who wants to unseat longtime Congressman Tom Cole.
With these ads coming to light, many Oklahomans are wondering who Bondar is, several ads have even accused him of living in Texas.
Bondar has a background in several different parts of the country, including his own trucking insurance company, which he owned for several years and sold a couple of years ago.
News 9 independently verified that Bondar owns two properties in Oklahoma, one purchased in 2022 and one in 2023.
Bondar told us that he is registered to vote in Oklahoma and has an Oklahoma driver's license, but due to safety concerns, his family currently lives in Texas.
People have also been surprised to see Tom Cole, who has represented Oklahoma in Congress for more than 20 years, has been firing back at Bondar with advertisements.
Tonight on News 9 at 10, we are getting a look at both sides of the rivalry. Our Matt McCabe will be sharing more on his conversation with Bondar and our Washington Bureau Chief Alex Cameron is sitting down with Cole to discuss the election race.
