A large, violent tornado caused damage Thursday night in southwest Oklahoma.
The storm produced the twister in the 7 p.m. hour in the area near Duke and Olustee, Okla., in Jackson County. The multi-vortex tornado narrowly missed the city of Altus.
However, the tornado did cause damage, destruction that could be seen live on News 9. Chief Meteorologist described the damage done to what appeared to be either a home or a barn.
As of 8 p.m., there has not been any confirmation of injuries from the storm. However, a Jackson County Sheriff's spokesperson said that there were at least four homes damaged west of Altus. Also, there were some tractors and other farm equipment overturned, and a lot of powerlines down in the area.
