OU Baseball Takes Down UConn, Regional Final Rematch Set For Monday

The Sooners won back-to-back games against Duke and UConn on Sunday, paving the way for a winner-take-all Regional Final in Norman.

OU lost to UConn in the winner's portion of the Norman Regional, meaning the Sooners had to win three straight games to advance to the Regional Final.

After eliminating Duke in the afternoon, the Sooners started play against UConn one hour later.

Down 0-2 early before tying up the game at three a piece in the third inning, it was scoreless until a three-run eighth inning which was enough to give the Sooners the victory.

UConn added a homer in the bottom of the eighth, but the Sooners closed it out in the ninth inning.

Now, the Sooners and Huskies will meet again Monday night at 8 p.m. for the regional title and to advance to the Super Regional.
