The Porch Visits New Costume Design Exhibit At The Oklahoma City Museum Of Art

A brand new exhibit has opened at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art that features various works from the late, Oscar winning costume designer Edith Head.

News 9's Jordan Ryan took the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch to the newly opened exhibit to explore the rich and detailed history behind some of Hollywood's most iconic props and costume pieces.

Some of the most prolific artifacts on display at the "Edith Head: Hollywood's Costume Designer" exhibit are one of her eight Oscar's, as well as several costumes that were used in golden era films such as "Ten Commandments" and "Sampson and Delilah."

Michael J. Anderson, the president and CEO of the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, shared how displaying these historical Hollywood artifacts keep's Head's legacy alive.

"She was the most important designer in Hollywood from about the beginning of the 1940s through the 1970s. It's been a huge, huge undertaking, it's the biggest exhibition this museum has ever organized himself," Anderson said.

The exhibit is being featured at OKCMOA from June 22th through September 29th.
