With its weekend series against the Oklahoma City Spark in the books, the Team USA Softball team is turning its attention to the WBSC World Cup in Italy.

Former Sooners Jayda Coleman and Tiare Jennings will be making the trip and are honored to be representing America overseas.

Coleman says, "A lot of emotions come to me when I put on the Team USA jersey. My uncle, Mike, served in the Navy, so just being able to represent the USA is an honor and a blessing."

"It is a dream come true. I always wanted to play for Team USA when I was younger. It is still unbelievable to be here. I am so happy and so thankful," says Jennings.

The girls leave for Italy on July 9  with their first game slated for July 15. The Goal, bring home the gold. That said, the ladies have some other plans while they are in Italy.

Jennings says, "I'm excited to eat some pasta. Italian Food is definitely my favorite, so I am really excited to get out there, eat some good food and go shopping."

"I have heard the pasta and the bread is ridiculous, so I am going to try to eat as much as I can when I get there. Without putting on too much weight!" adds Coleman.

Former OU Stars Jocelyn Alo and Kinzie Hansen are also representing America this Summer as part of the Team USA Elite squad set to compete in Japan. That competition starts on July 4.
