OCPD Capt. Valerie Littlejohn Provides Update On NW OKC Standoff That Left Officer Injured, Suspect Dead

The Oklahoma City Police Department Captain Valerie Littlejohn gave an update after a northwest Oklahoma City standoff that lasted several hours left an officer injured and a suspect dead.

The Oklahoma City Police Department Captain Valerie Littlejohn gave an update after a northwest Oklahoma City standoff that lasted several hours left an officer injured and a suspect dead.

Littlejohn said the officer involved underwent surgery and is doing well.

She shared that fellow officers rushed him to the hospital after arriving on a scene of a man holding a gun to someone's head.

She said the man began firing at officers and locked himself in his home with two adult women and three children.

Littlejohn said negotiators tried to work with the man, but police ended up shooting and killing the suspect after he opened fire on officers several times.
