Derailed Train In Woodward Left Cars On Their Sides Thursday

BNSF Railway confirmed that rail cars derailed in Woodward Oklahoma, Thursday evening.

According to BNSF, around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, 18 cars carrying liquid asphalt and soybean oil derailed

Woodward Police shared in a social media post that BNSF will be closing all railroad crossings from 6th Street west to 22nd Street.

Police say that this will take place during the night on Friday, and it could take a few days.

Drivers are advised to take Lakeview 22nd Street and 48th Street in the meantime.

BNSF also shared that there were no injuries reported, and there is no threat to the public.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
