Man Arrested, Identified After 1 Killed In NW Oklahoma City Shooting

Oklahoma City Police have identified a man taken into custody following a shooting that left one person dead Sunday morning in the northwestern part of the city.

A suspect who was arrested after a fatal shooting Sunday morning in northwestern Oklahoma City, police say.

Oklahoma City Police said officers responded to a home near 11000 NW 96th Street around 3:25 a.m. for a shots fired call.

At the scene, officers found a person lying in the road who had been shot multiple times. That person, identified as 49-year-old William Birdtail, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police there was a fight in the street that involved several people and at some point, someone involved grabbed a gun and shot the Birdtail multiple times.

The suspect accused of the shooting, later identified by OCPD as 21-year-old Ramari Boone-Haye, was taken into custody on scene and booked into jail on a complaint of first-degree murder and pointing a firearm.

It's unclear what started the fight, police said.
