Here are her tips on how to get back into a good routine.
Sleep and Health:
-While we sleep our body is working to support health brain function and physical health.
How much is enough:
-Varies throughout our lives,
-Babies & Toddlers: about 12 to 16 (including naps)
- School-age children: 10-12
-Teens: 8-10
-Adults: 7-8
How to Help Sleep:
-Visual schedules, making a step-by-step routine for children to see what is coming next.
-Eliminating blue light or electronics before bedtime and using sound machines/apps.
-Try to sleep a little earlier each night, it is easier than just jumping a full hour earlier.
-Use bedtime as a time to connect and make family rituals.
