A federal judge sentences an Owasso man to five years of probation for shooting and killing his uncle in 2019 after mistaking him for an intruder.

Court documents state Bailey Sparkman went downstairs, saw someone inside at the door, got a gun and then shot him.

That intruder was Bailey's uncle Zachary Sparkman. Bailey said he shot his uncle in self-defense but added he didn't try to figure out who was trying to get in the house first.

He pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

As part of his probation, he'll have to get mental health treatment.
