As firefighters keep an eye out for hot spots after a fire sparked at the Windsail Apartments, attention now turns to the people impacted.
It's going to be a long night and a few days for them as they figure out what to do next.
One resident who lives in the complex told News On 6 she's stunned and at a loss for words.
Stephanie Harrison said she had just finished moving in some of her belongings right before the fire, which burned several units and caused heavy water damage.
Harrison said she was heading back to the apartment after going to the store when she saw smoke from the highway.
She said the fire destroyed all of her clothes and furniture, including keepsakes belonging to her late grandmother and her friend's ashes.
Harrison, who works in restoration, said she never thought she would be in the same situation as the people she normally helps.
"It breaks your heart. You just feel sick. I just keep saying I feel sick," Harrison said.
Several of those residents who lost their units or suffered heavy damage are figuring out their next steps at the leasing office.
