City Of Cushing Asks Community To Maintain Limited Water Usage; Boil Order Lifted

The City of Cushing asked again on Friday for those living and working to continue their water conservation efforts.

Interim City Manager Derek Griffith said that while the voluntary boil advisory has been lifted, everyone should continue to limit usage to only necessary functions. Previously, they said that the city needs ration measures because the current level of consumption will outpace the work they are doing to regain city reserves.

"Please continue to conserve water and limit usage to only necessary functions. While we have made great strides in getting back to normal operations, we are not there yet. Please help by doing your part to conserve," said Griffith on Facebook.

Rotary Clubs around the area are jumping in to help because the Rotary motto is: service above self. Rotary Clubs across America are all about helping the people in their communities.

The Sand Springs Rotary Club donated a pallet of water bottles to Cushing. That water went to 32 families who don't have water right now.

"Whether it be building a wheelchair ramp, or in this case gathering donations for water," said Danny Hancock, Sand Springs Rotary Club President.
