Another Oklahoma law enforcement agency swears in a 12-year-old to its ranks.

He's been battling brain and spine cancer for years and his goal is to be sworn in by 1,000 law enforcement agencies.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol swore him in earlier this week.

DJ was down in Durant Thursday night to be sworn in for the Choctaw Lighthorse Police Department.

"Honestly, if I had a place to work, it would be here, cause it's peaceful and quiet down here," he said.

DJ started his journey after losing his home to Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and being inspired by the first responders.

He says all the ceremonies have helped him keep fighting.

"I'm just going keep on going until my gas tank run out, and I say that in every interview, but people don't know what that means," said DJ. "When my gas tank runs out, that's when God calls you home, and you never know when God's going to call you home."

DJ is now a part of 842 agencies. His goal is to hit 1,000 agencies and set a Guinness world record.
