Oklahoma State quarterback Alan Bowman was left off the Davey O’Brien Award preseason watch list, but the seven-year veteran has earned a spot on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award watch list, which goes to the top senior or upperclassman quarterback in the nation.
The Cowboys don't need Bowman to play hero ball every Saturday with Ollie Gordon in the backfield.
However, Bowman could easily put up better numbers in his second year in Stillwater. He has an array of weapons at wide receiver and is more comfortable in OSU's system.
Bowman always knew he wanted to try and get an extra year of eligibility.
"Geez, everyone is doing this, so I wanted to try and figure this out," Bowman said. "Being able to do something special here is why I wanted to. Another year under the belt, working together, confidence is there, we are going to be really good."
