The OSBI said a specific gun that was bought or traded around 2008 could help them solve a cold case double murder.

A couple in their 60s were shot and killed in their Welch home, and the killer has never been caught.

The type of gun they need information about is a Smith and Wesson Sigma SW9F.

It was only made for three years, and investigators think if they can trace it back, it may just solve the case.

Investigators have been going over evidence related to the 2008 cold case involving Leota and William Huls.

The two were found shot to death in their Welch home and were known as churchgoing people who loved their community and each other.

"This case is heartbreaking because of the fact that the perpetrator had to be extremely coldhearted," said DA Investigator Gary Stansill.

Stansill said the person who killed the Hulses was in Miami at one point because evidence was also found there.

But he said the case was never solved.

"The weapon named is a Smith and Wesson Sigma SW9F, this weapon has been narrowed down so much. It was only made for a couple years," said OSBI Special Agent Tammy Ferrari.

She said the gun was only made from 1994 to 1997 and that they’re looking for anyone in Northeast Oklahoma, Southeast Kansas or Southwest Missouri who may have owned it, sold it or traded it.

They said that person won’t be accused of a crime.

“Hoping if somebody has this weapon, sold it, traded it, still has it, or got it, that they relay that information, or if they still have it, to bring it in and let us do some test fires.”

The two investigators say cold cases are tedious and time-consuming, but they believe in fighting for justice for every family involved.

"I’ve worked them before, and they’ve been solved before," Stansill said. "I'm of the belief there is no case that cannot be solved."

The OSBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and that includes any general case tips.
