A boil order has been issued for parts of Osage County by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
Rural Water District 21 is advised that the water might be harmful to the health of consumers due to contamination.
The DEQ says to use water that has been brought to a full, rolling boil for at least one minute, bottled water, or water from another acceptable source for consumption.
Boil water or use from another source for food prep, dishwashing and brushing teeth, says the DEQ.
The order was issued due to a treatment failure.
