The Tigers are going to be a young developmental team in 2024 that could raise some eyebrows by the end of the season. Coach Tim Harper hopes this team can make a run toward the end of the season in a similar fashion to last year.
Coweta reeled off 6 wins in a row at one point and ended up with only one loss in district play.
“We are in uncharted territory for us,” said Harper. “Last few years we've had quite a few starters coming back last four or five years. This year, we are having to turn the page a little bit, move on.”
The offense will have a competition at quarterback.
“We've been QB driven last for or five years. We aren't going to put as much pressure on those guys, but hopefully, we will be very successful.” The offensive line has a couple of players that played well last season for the Tigers in Hunter Reavis and Hunter DeHues, and they will be counted on to help guide an inexperienced QB.
The defense has 5 returning starters mixed in with a young core that will look to mature with more playing time during the season.
Coweta opens up the season at rival Wagoner on September 6th.
