As residents in Rogers County continue to deal with the damage from the May 25 tornado, Twisted Tee in Owasso is working on helping those affected.
Twisted Tee is an indoor golf simulator facility, so people can participate in air-conditioned golf instead of a golf course.
Co-owner Nick Budler said he and his team want to build on the momentum in the community with recovery efforts with a tournament.
Proceeds will help families directly impacted through the Claremore and Rogers County Disaster Assistance Organization.
Budler says it’s just his organization doing its part.
“So really, aside from us, it’s the CRCDA group helping put this together," Budler said. "We’ve had some outreach from the local police department and firefighter groups, which is great, but those people are impacted too. They’ve been up at all hours of the night trying to get things corrected. So, this is for everybody.”
The golf tournament will be held from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
People wanting to support the tournament at Twisted Tee Golf in Owasso can play in teams of 4 or as a single player.
There will also be a silent auction.
You can sign up online on Twisted Tee Golf’s Facebook page and also through the CRCDA website.
