Weekend Events: Balloon Festival, Fire Run, Stupor Bowl, And More

The weekend is here. Six In The Morning Weekend Anchor Kristen Weaver shares all the fun and exciting things happening across Green Country.

The Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning

Looks up to the skies this weekend. The event is in Muskogee at Hatbox field Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Balloons fly at sunrise and again at dusk. There will be live music, tethered rides for the public, and competition rides.

It's $20 per vehicle to get in. The full event list can be found on the Muskogee parks website.

Tulsa Fire Run

A special run Saturday will go to support firefighters in Tulsa.

The Tulsa Firehouse one-mile and 5k run will start at Station 5 at 102 east 16th street and go through downtown at 8 a.m.

There will also be activities for kids like inflatables.

The support and money raised will go to installing smoke alarms in homes and saving lives, and go to families of firefighters in need.

Meadow Gold Mack

A 20 foot tall lumberjack is the latest addition to Route 66.

Meadow Gold Mack the friendly lumberjack is being unveiled Saturday at the Meadow Gold Mack Route 66 outpost.

The event starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. There will also be art, shopping, food and a lot of other activities to honor the mother road.

Timmy the Duck

If you missed the giant rubber ducks this week, you’re still in luck.

The 10 foot duck named Timmy will be at Mother Road Market Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It will also be at the WeStreet ice center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

And at the Jim Glover Chevrolet Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It’s all to promote the upcoming Big Dam Party to celebrate the opening of Zink Lake on the Arkansas River. That's happening Labor Day Weekend.

SCHEELS Job Fair

A job fair for part-time jobs is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The sporting goods superstore is hiring more than 300 part-time jobs and on-site interviews are available.

It’s at the Scheels Career Center at 7645 East 63rd street.

They do recommend you apply online at Scheels.com/Tulsa before showing up.

Stupor Bowl

There's less than a week until college football season, but Friday night is the night to catch the "Stupor Bowl".

98.5 The Bull's Tige will face off our co-worker Gavin in an NCAA Football 25 video game match.

It's going down at the Gridiron Sports Bar at the River Spirit Casino Resort starting at 5 p.m.
