13 teenage boys have sued Bristow Public Schools and Floyd Robinson, a former teacher and wrestling coach.

The lawsuit says Robinson was a sexual predator, and the school knew about it for decades.

A lawyer representing the boys says he hopes this lawsuit will change Oklahoma schools.

The lawsuit says Bristow Public Schools knew of Floyd Robinson's inappropriate behavior and did nothing until Bristow Police arrested Robinson.

Chase McBride, attorney, said “If you walk through the community in the school system and say the name, ‘Who is Freaky Floyd?’ Every single person knows who it is,” said attorney Chase McBride.

A lawsuit against Bristow Public Schools says the district knowingly allowed a sexual predator to teach and coach teenage boys during the 2023/2024 school year.

A Bristow Police report says Floyd Robinson, who people at school in the community knew as Freaky Floyd, had a video on his phone of the victims undressing, and some were naked. The lawsuit also says school officials knew Robinson would sit in a chair and watch the victims shower.

It also adds Robinson was known for holding boys down and touching them inappropriately during wrestling practice.

“In February of this year, he got caught. Finally, some boys had the courage to come forward that they noticed he was recording them in the shower after one of the practices,” said McBride.

Prosecutors charged Floyd in February for peeping Tom, child pornography, and computer crimes. Floyd is also named in the lawsuit.

Chase McBride is representing the victims and says the school must be held responsible.

“When parents send students to school, they trust you with their kids, and when you put a predator in the same room with those kids, you're violating that trust,” said McBride.

McBride believes Bristow Public Schools chose to protect their reputation over the students and hopes by filing this lawsuit that will change.

“If there's an issue in your school, take care of it. I think that if the school comes forward and says we've had this issue, people are more likely to trust the school in the future if they're more honest about the situation,” McBride said.

He says he expects to add two more victims to this lawsuit.

Bristow Public Schools sent News On 6 the following statement regarding the lawsuit:

Bristow Public Schools is aware of the lawsuit filed in federal court related to the actions of a former employee who was dismissed from the district in March. While the district is unable to comment on pending litigation or specific incidents involving our students, it is the district's policy to immediately investigate allegations of misconduct and take swift action. The facts surrounding the allegations made in this suit are no different. It is the priority of Bristow Public Schools to provide a safe learning environment for its students.
Bristow Public Schools is committed to transparency throughout this process. The district will continue to provide support to the students and families affected.
