A jury has convicted a 19-year-old man for his role in a drive-by shooting that seriously injured a six-year-old girl in 2023.
Investigators say Henry Jaramillo shot at a house near Apache and North Yale on Jan. 15, where a six-year-old girl was shot in the chest in her living room. She survived but was in intensive care.
Jaramillo was charged with seven counts of firing a gun while inside a car and one count of gang-related offenses. He was charged as a youthful offender because he was a juvenile when the crime occurred. He was found by a jury on Friday.
His sentencing is scheduled for October 4th.
A 21-year-old gang member pleaded guilty last month in connection with this shooting. Investigators say Rocky Serna was the driver when Jaramillo shot into a house and hit the little girl by mistake. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison. Serna was also accused of shooting at a man and his mother while out on bond for the first drive-by shooting.
