It's the start of Friday night lights at schools across Green Country.
Bixby is at Owasso kicking off the season with the Battle of the Burbs.
The third annual Battle of the Burbs has a different feel to it, with the game not taking place on the Tulsa campus. Safe to say though, Owasso stadium will be rocking with the 2-time Class 6A Division 1 champions in town.
The Spartans and Rams have squared off four times in the past two years, and Bixby has won all four, ending Owasso's season in the playoffs as well. The Rams would love to pull the upset here at home.
There's plenty of Division One talent on the field in this one, with the Rams featuring Oklahoma State commit Ryker Haff and Arkansas commit Blake Cherry on the offensive line.
Bixby counters with wide receiver Blake Hogshooter. Brode Shull is an Auburn commit as well.
Owasso is breaking in a new quarterback; Drew Frankenfield will have to manage his emotions.
This is a new look for the Bixby squad. Spartans only return one starter on defense and four on offense. You know the saying, though: it’s all about reloading and not rebuilding with a program like Bixby.
