Starting Wednesday, travelers can get on a nonstop flight to LaGuardia Airport in New York City through Delta Air Lines at Tulsa International Airport.
The plan to add a new nonstop service to LaGuardia is something that has been in the works for over a year now.
With a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, passengers will now have the option to hop on a direct flight once a day.
Representatives from the airport told News On 6 that New York City is one of the top destinations for travelers from the Tulsa area, with 116 passengers flying each way between the two cities daily.
It meets a growing demand while also providing Tulsans with more flexibility and convenience when traveling to the northeast.
The airport said this new service reflects its commitment to giving travelers as many options as possible when they fly.
There are 22 nonstop destinations out of Tulsa, and the airport is always working to increase that number.
The first flight to NYC will take off at 7:55 a.m.
