The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said that just before midnight, 30-year-old Matthew Boyer was headed westbound on Highway 412, where it splits to I-44.

Troopers said Boyer was driving in the left lane and failed to make a curve. They said he went off into a grassy area, struck a road sign, and hit a barrier before rolling his pickup and landing upside down.

The crash prompted a heavy response from first responders.

Catoosa Police and Fire, Rogers County Deputies, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol helped work the scene.

Troopers said Boyer was pinned for 30 minutes before firefighters pulled him from the truck, but he died at the scene.

Law enforcement did close part of the highway for over an hour until they had everything cleaned up.

The area is now open again to traffic and the crash is under investigation.
