OSU travels to Chapman Stadium on Saturday to face a Golden Hurricane squad that's looking for some stability.
Tulsa went on the road last weekend and faced a tough Arkansas State team and left a lot to be desired in the 28-24 loss.
“Got to continue to play better, willing through for, you know, 199 tonight, that's protection, that's running and run pass and again, those other guys do give a thread a little bit more,” said Tulsa head coach Kevin Wilson. “We had a couple of plays with Kirk. Matter of fact, we had one where the ball was trying to be pulled and the running back wouldn't let him pull it. He took the ball, and Kirk's playing well, but we got to take care of him. He's playing he's a really good player, but he's really good when we're really good.”
What corrections does Tulsa need to make to compete with 13th-ranked Oklahoma State?
Poplin: Stop the self-inflicted wounds. Last Saturday, gave up over 20 points on things like allowing a punt return, fumbling at the goal line, interceptions, and stall drives. If Tulsa can clean that up a little bit, I think they'll be in a better place. You've also got to protect the quarterback, Kirk Francis, a little bit more, 10 hits last Saturday at Arkansas State. You cannot let that happen with OSU this Saturday.
Kickoff is at 11 a.m. on Saturday at H.A. Chapman Stadium.
