One person is dead after severe storms moved through Pawnee County Thursday night, causing extensive damage to the area.
Pawnee County Sheriff Darrin Varnell said at least one person died as a result of this storm, which had winds between 70 and 75 miles per hour.
That victim has not yet been identified, but they were in a travel trailer when the storm hit.
It is unknown if there were any other injuries, however Varnell says the storm downed power lines across the county, uprooted trees and caused other trailers to roll over.
"Anytime you get hit with a storm its tragic, but you know I know for sure one of the trailers that's flipped, people actually live here," Varnell said. "I'm not sure about the actual residents in the other trailers, but they essentially lost just about everything they own in a matter of seconds."
Electric crews are continuing to work to help return power to as many customers as possible.
First responders are asking for people to stay in their homes as crews continue to repair the damage and clear debris from the area.
The Pawnee Nation Police Department said they are open to anyone affected by the storm.
