The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa on Saturday.
The event raises critical funds the support breast cancer patients' care services, research and health equity initiatives to better serve those impacted by the disease.
News On 6's LeAnne Taylor was at the Village of Hope, a tent set up for breast cancer survivors to gather and visit and eat food from IHOP together.
“This is a day where we all get together and are reminded of how blessed and fortunate we are,” Taylor said.
It may have been hot for the run, but hundreds of people showed up to show support.
One participant said he's walking in support of his wife, a survivor of four months.
Many people are sharing positivity and inspiring others. The first female to cross the finish line said she ran in support of a close family member.
"When it's something like being out here for breast cancer, and everybody that's been affected by it, it makes it extra special. A very special morning," she said.
