Tulsa Couple Gains TikTok Fame With High-Energy Dance And Lip Sync Videos

A Tulsa couple is gaining a lot of attention on TikTok. From hip-hop to heavy metal, Deanna Conner and Daniel Pickett dance and lip-sync to all styles of music.

“I have always been able to lip sync really well my whole life,” Conner said. “Being a teenager and being in front of my mirror and just pretending I am the artist like every single time. I am sure we all have done that growing up.”

Conner started uploading videos to her TikTok page, “Just MTV,” more than a year ago.

“I just thought it would be really fun to put a smile on people's faces,” Conner said.

Her husband, Pickett, joined her for one of her videos in late April. It was an accident, but it became clear that making videos was something they enjoyed doing together.

“I didn't think I was ever going to be doing anything on camera and doing anything on video it's very strange,” Pickett said.

While Conner lip-syncs, Pickett shares his moves he only used to do in the mirror. It may feel strange, but they share because of what they think it can do for others.

“I dealt with growing up personally, lot of sadness, lot of trauma and you get on social media and there is so much negativity in the world,” Conner said. “From what's happening in the news, to what people are going through personally, and social media is a place to get those stories out there, and sometimes you need to scroll to something that makes you feel good.”

“It's really cool that a lot of people would hit us back with how it made their day and stuff. That's what means most to us,” Pickett said.

They want people to find their own rhythm and not be afraid to share it.
