Ridgerunners Fly Past Tigers: Grove Wins 42-13

Ranked 12th in the state, Fort Gibson and 6th-ranked Grove in Class 4A clashed Friday night down south. This matchup goes back years, but two of the most memorable games are from this decade. Each team split Class 4A state titles back in 2020 and 2021 against each other. This one matters just as much for these two teams.

The Tigers welcomed in the Ridgerunners.

It’s 7-3 in the first quarter. Gavin Wyatt finds Jacob Gain, who makes a guy miss on the outside, and away he goes down the sideline—50 yards to the house. It’s 14-3 Grove now.

In the second quarter, the Ridgerunners threw it right into the hands of Brody Hansen. Turnover—Fort Gibson’s ball right back.

This led to a touchdown by Judd Rudd from 20 yards out. The Ridgerunners fly away with this one in the second half. The final score: 42-13. Grove improves to 6-0 this season, while Fort Gibson falls to 1-2 in district play and will have to fight even harder in the final four weeks to claim a spot in the playoffs.
