Cherokee Nation Secures $86 Million In Federal Funding For Native-Owned Small Businesses

The Cherokee Nation says it's been awarded more than $86 million in federal funding to help boost Native-owned small businesses.

The tribe says the money is part of a historic agreement between it and the US Treasury Department.

The Nation says it will help offer loans of up to $5 million to qualifying Native-owned small businesses.

It says it's on track to issue the first loans through the program in the next 75 days.
